The “Gulf of Naples Independent Film Festival” is an event intended to serve as an international showcase for films of various types and gender, in order to promote and spread the art, auteur and experimental films that are not released in cinemas playhouses, to foster dialogue between different experiences and to create a meeting point for the support of cinema culture.
The initiative started by chance thanks to the passion for the "seventh art" of its creators-organizers (Umberto Santacroce, Vittorio Adinolfi and Nicola Guarino); the festival obtained in the last years a resounding and unexpected success, registering the participation of films of various kinds from different areas of the globe.
Encouraged by the results achieved and driven by the desire to offer the opportunity again to promote their works to those without adequate financial resources, but rich in ideas and talent, the patrons of the Festival continues for the third year by expanding the scope proposing new socializing initiatives and particularly involving the younger generation.
The festival, as in previous editions, is enriched by an exhibition of unique and unpublished historical film posters and each edition is dedicated to a film genre.
After the "Melodrama" of the age 40 of the first edition, and the "Peplum" of the age 50 of the second, this year will show that particular genre called "Spaghetti Westerns" born in Italy in the mid-60s until the mid-70s. The posters are from the private collection of Alberto Bruno.
